In addition to regular PTA business, we will have a study session based on ED100.org lessons on the topic of student achievement. ED100.org is an amazing resource for learning about all aspects of the California public schools system. Have you ever wondered if it true that schools in the US rank poorly compared to the rest of the world? Do you wonder how CA schools compare to schools in other US states? And how do we measure school performance anyway? These are questions that are addressed in the ED100 lessons and that we can discussion Wednesday. PLUS an update from Ms. Lewis, the latest news on PTA projects and events and how you can get involved!

“How are Our Schools Doing?”
California’s systems for rating and ranking schools is changing. We’d like to share lessons with you from Ed100.org that explain some of these changes. We’ll discuss these lesson at the PTA meeting on Wednesday.
The California State PTA is working with Ed100.org to help create better-informed school communities. The lessons linked below each take about five minutes to read, and they are available in both English and Spanish. By learning together, we will have more fun, learn more, and have a much bigger chance of turning insights into actions for our school. When you go to Ed100.org, please sign in and remember to select our school in your profile. This will help us keep track of our progress… and might help us win some money in one of Ed100.org’s drawings, too!
